About
Mary Hyunhee Song is an independent curator/artist from Korea, who is interested in cultural exchange, philosophical conversation as well as languages. Her independent curatorial projects include: Foreigners? Aliens?? Shinhan Gallery, Seoul (2007); Minority Report, Gallery 175, Seoul (2007); Young Collectors' Choice, Shinhan Securities Group, Seoul (2008). She moved to Ireland in 2009 and had her curator-in-residence at the Guesthouse Project in Cork, Ireland in 2010. She has curated an exhibition, Distance Making & Reducing, Rauma, Finland (2011) She is focused on collaboration with local artists for international projects and cultural exchange to reduce the gap between different cultures and misunderstanding. She writes for her blogs, 'Mary Art Project', about her art experiences and information as the director of Mary Art Project. During her period in Jeju, she has been a radio reporter and a DJ at Arirang Radio. She resumed her artistic activities again in 2017 to celebrate her 10th year anniversary since she started curating an art exhibition. She currently lives and works in Turku, Finland.
